The stolen money and jewels are estimated at a price of 6lakhs.
Coimbatore: Mohan (50) a private company employee along with his family were residents of the MGR Nagar near Kovilpalayam.
Mohan's daughter Sathya Prabha who is a private school teacher was married just two weeks ago. Day before yesterday Mohan had a sudden health complication and the family members admitted him at a private hospital in Cheranmanagar.
Mohan was advised to stay at the hospital for a few days, so his daughter Sathya Prabha and her husband came home yesterdayto take some things and went back to the hospital.
When the couple came home the next day morning at 6 am they found the front lock of their door broken. When they went inside the couple found the cupboard lock broken and contents in it which included diamond and platinum rings along with 20 soverign gold jewels and 2 lakhs of cash missing.
The family filed a complaint at the Kovilpalayam police station who then sent fingerprint analyst to their home. The Kovilpalayam police officials have filed cases under illegal entry and robbery and are further investigating on the incident.
