Four men stabbed over money dispute in Coimbatore; one dead, three injured.
Coimbatore: Police are on the lookoutfor a man who stabbed four people with the help of his friends over an alleged money dispute in Thottipalayam in Coimbatore, on Wednesday. While one person died of injuries, three others are treated at a private hospital, here.
Ilangovan hails from the Thottipalayam area of Coimbatore and works in a workshop. He has also been financing for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Meanwhile, Michael an auto driver, hadborrowed Rs. 30,000 by pledging his vehicle documents. Two days back, Michael had reportedly repaid Rs. 10,000 to Ilangovan's mother. On the same day,Ilangovan's mother had contacted Michael and told him that instead of Rs.10,000 rupees, he had given only Rs. 9,000 rupees and asked him to pay the missing Rs. 1000.
As Michael denied her accusation, he allegedly entered into a verbal war with her which ended with up in a heated conversation. Knowing this, Illangovan had called Michael and shouted at him for his abusive talk to his mother.
Enraged by the issue, today Michael along with his friends went to Illangovan's workshop in Thottipalayam and stabbed him with a knife. Seeing the assault, Illangovan's friends and relatives tried to stop him. However, Illangovan and three of his relative and friends sustained severe injuries. Meanwhile,Michael and his friends fled the scene.
All four were rushed to a private hospital. However, Soundar, a relative of Ilangovan, died of a seizure on the way to the hospital. And, Ilangovan, Kirubakaran and Arun were admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The Peelamedu police have registered a case and are looking out for Michael and his friends involved in the brutal murder.
