Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Crimes Division books three for swindling lakhs in the pretext of fetching State and Central government jobs
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Crimes Division has booked cases against three persons for swindling lakhs in the pretext of fetching State and Central government jobs. Investigations are on.
Ashok Kumar (38) from Seeranaickenpalayam area of Coimbatore was running a kindergarten in Vadavalli area. In 2017, he advertised that he needed counselors for his school and many were interviewed. Tina from Vadavalli was selected for the post and she started working at the school.
Later, Ashok Kumar got acquainted with Tina's husband Joe Antony and mother Stella Umarani. They informed Ashok Kumar that they knew many who work in powerful positions and could fetch State and Central government jobs. Ashok Kumar and his relatives then gave them money to the tune of 65 lakhs in order to get government jobs.
When receiving the money, they promised the jobs would be arranged within 60 months or else the money would be returned. When they failed to act upon their promises, people who gave them asked for the money to be returned, but the trio threatened them. Following this Ashok Kumar lodged a complaint with the police.
Based on Ashok Kumar's complaint, Coimbatore City Crimes Division has booked cases against Joe Antony, his wife Tina and Tina's mother Stella Umarani.
