Coimbatore: A review meeting on the development work being carried out under the Smart city projects was held today.
Chaired by the Corporation Commissioner, the meeting discussed development work under the Smart City projects in Coimbatore Corporation, including rehabilitation and improvement of water bodies and construction of parks, roads, bridges and sewerage canals.
Parks, children's parks, playgrounds, roadside walkways, model road work under the Smart City projects and work at Ukkadam Periyakulam, Valangulam, Muthannankulam, Singanallur Lake and Kurichikulam were inspected by the Corporation Commissioner. Later, he inquired about the reviving of various water bodies in Coimbatore and the construction of modern street lighting facilities along the sidewalks. He also inquired about distribution of drinking water in Coimbatore Corporation, methods of garbage disposal and the various projects that need to be completed.
The meeting was attended by City Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Executive Engineer (Smart City Projects) Saravanakumar, all zonal engineers, assistant engineers and Corporation officials.
