Coimbatore: Model road construction work worth 24.36 crore under the Smart city scheme in Coimbatore is in full swing from DB road, RS Puram to Cowley Brown Road first junction in the West Zone.
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the work today. Later, work under the Smart City scheme including road construction, sewerage construction and laying of 24X7 drinking water pipe, and telecommunication cable, rainwater drainage, paving of sidewalks, and installation of street lights and LED hoardings.
Following this, he told the health officials that mosquito repellent should be sprayed in the canals leading to the sewers in front of the shops on both sides of the road to prevent water stagnation and mosquito production. He directed the concerned authorities to speed up and complete the work on time so as not to disrupt public transport.
Following this, the Corporation Commissioner visited and inspected the street dog sterilization center at Seeranaickenpalayam, 20th Ward, West Zone, Coimbatore.
During the inspection, City Engineer A. Lakshmanan, West Zone Assistant Commissioner AJ Senthil Arasan, Executive Engineer (Smart City Projects) Saravana Kumar, Assistant Engineer Kamalakannan, TWAD Board Division Junior Engineers and Corporation officials were present.
