Tirupur: An event promoting nutritious and proper food intake was held in Tirupur. District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan inaugurated the event on behalf of the District Food Safety Department.
Tirupur: An event promoting nutritious and proper food intake was held in Tirupur. District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan inaugurated the event on behalf of the District Food Safety Department.
The event was held in Tirupur as part of a nationwide event organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It was reiterated that it is very important that the food we eat is nutritious and good for the body. Getting the right food at the right time is important to boost the immune system in the current scenarion. It was also advised that it is the duty of all of us to bring awareness among the general public about nutritious, balanced and quality food.

Also, the event featured a display of traditional rice varieties. Food made out of millets was also on display.
The exhibition was organized behalf of the Integrated Child Development Program and the Department of Food Safety. District Food Safety Officer Vijayalalithambika, consumer organizations, restaurant owners' association, Food Safety Officers, Integrated Child Development Project and Anganwadi staff and many others participated.
