It is said that a liquor store is said to be opened in a privately owned place in the area.
The public in the area besieged the Tirupur Collectorate and submitted a petition. The petition said that the liquor store should not be allowed in the area as it is close to agricultural land and the livelihood of more than 300 families in the area would be in question and it would also serve as a chance for rogues to enter the densely populated residential areas.
Hence they requested the District Collector to stop the opening of the TASMAC shop in the interest of the farmers and the public in the area.
