He said the Government of Tamil Nadu is making serious efforts to implement the Anaimalayaru, Nallaru, Pandiyaru, Punnampuzha and Godavari, Cauvery connection projects to save water wasted during the monsoon season.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was held today at Aliyar Dam Park for the construction of a memorial for VK Palanisamy Gounder who was instrumental in the implementation of Aliyar Parambikulam Dam project. The memorial will be built at a cost of 1 crore. He played a stellar role in setting up the Aliyar irrigation scheme that benefits farmers in Coimbatore and Tirupur. The government had earlier announced its plans to erect a statue and construct a memorial at an estimate of 1 of VK Palanisamy Gounder in Aliyar.
The Minister also inaugurated the Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Society and wedding hall in Pollachi at a cost of Rs. 2.75 crore and provided welfare assistance worth Rs. 4.25 crore to various beneficiaries. Following this, Minister SP Velumani said the Kerala and Tamil Nadu government committees have been set up to implement the long-awaited Anaimalayaru Nallaru project that would irrigate 4.5 lakh acres of land in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts and various stages of talks are underway.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan, Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Pollachi Jayaraman, and many others.
