The government recently gave a go-ahead for the reopening of the temple, which had been closed due to lockdown since last March. The Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple was reopened since last month and devotees follow social distancing and other COVID-19 preventive measures during darshan.

As it was Amavasya today, an auspicious day, a large number of devotees who came to the temple stood in long queues and followed the COVID-19 preventive measures to worship the deity.
