Coimbatore: Kadeshwara Subramaniam in a press meet at Pollachi said Hindu Munnani will continue to protest until temple lands are recovered.

On behalf of all Hindu movements in Pollachi, ‘Shraddhanjali’ was held yesterday for Hindu Munnani founder Ramagopalan. Speaking during the function, South Tamil Nadu RSS leader Marimuthu hailed Ramagopalan as a man who cared about Hindu dharma and who wanted the Hindu community to prevail.

He requested that everyone must live by his ideals.

Speaking on the occasion, V. Shanmuganathan, former governor of Meghalaya, said that Ramagopalan was the one who mobilized the youth and erected Ganesha statues in villages and streets, causing a religious upliftment among Hindus.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Hindu Munnani state president Kadeswara Subramaniam said a case has been filed on behalf of the Hindu Munnani to reclaim occupied temple lands. He said that they will not rest until the temple lands are reclaimed. He said the court has ruled that the temple lands should be used in a way that is beneficial only to the temples and the government should follow that dictum.

He also added that they have been continuing to insist that darshan fee in temples should be eliminated, but the government is reluctant to implement this. The function was attended by South Tamil Nadu RSS leader Marimuthu, Hindu Munnani state president Kadeswara Subramaniam, state secretary Annathurai and former Meghalaya governor V. Shanmuganathan.
