Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspects various developmental projects undertaken in South Zone
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner inspected the various developmental projects taking place in the South Zone of Coimbatore.
A meeting was held with the Departmental Officers under the chairmanship of Corporation Commissioner and Special officer P. Kumaravel Pandian on the distribution of drinking water, sewerage projects and road work at the South Zone Office, Coimbatore.
Corporation Commissioner who inspected the development work being carried out in the South Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation also inspected the ongoing road work in Ward No.90, in Siruvani Nagar. He inspected the work for a Christian burial ground in Ward No.91 and the underground sewerage canal work at Kovaipudur Ashok Nagar.
He inspected the work underway to repair faulty water pipes in the areas dug for underground sewerage canal work in the Government Employee Colony area under Ward No.88. He also enquired about the construction of a badminton indoor playground in the same area and inspected the Thondamuthur Primary Health Center where medical examinations for people with cold, flu and cough take place. He also interacted with workers who conduct door-to-door inspections for COVID symptoms.
Later, the commissioner visited the isolated area in the area and directed the officials to spray disinfectants in mornings and evenings in the isolated areas and ensure the availability of essential items to the people in the area. He said that no one should come out until the end of the isolated period. He inspected the construction work underground water pumping station in Ward No. 87 and the construction of Community Hall at West Itteri Road, Sugunapuram. He ordered the officers to complete the projects within the stipulated time.
During the review meeting held with officials on drinking water supply, underground sewerage construction and road work at the Coimbatore Corporation South Zone Office meeting, he directed the concerned officials to complete the projects on time.
The meeting was attended by South Zone Assistant Commissioner TR Ravi, Executive Engineer Gnanavelu, TWAD Board Supervising Engineer Raghupathi and Executive Engineer Lakshmanan, Advisor S Sampath and Assistant Engineers Saravanakumar and Vimalraj were present during the meeting.
