Coimbatore: Omni bus operators have informed that buses will resume operations gradually from tomorrow.
After the lockdown relaxations were announced, omni buses started operating in various districts across Tamil Nadu from today. In this case, the service of Omni buses from Coimbatore will start from tomorrow according to bus owners.
The Omni Bus Stand is located near 100 feet road on Coimbatore Sathy Road. More than 350 buses operate from Coimbatore to Chennai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Tenkasi, Bangalore, Rajapalayam, Villupuram and Kallakurichi.
The first phase of lockdown was imposed on March 24 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Operation of omni buses have been suspended since then. After about 6 months, the service of omni buses across Tamil Nadu started today.
Omni bus owners in Coimbatore said, "Omni buses have not been operating for about 6 months. They will start running gradually in Coimbatore from Friday. Up to 30 buses will run on the first day. After that, all the vehicles will be operational within a week. All regulations will be followed as per the guidelines of the Central and State Governments.”
