Coimbatore: The two accused in Angoda Lokka case are having trouble coming out of jail even after getting bail a week back.
Amani Thanji, a Sri Lankan woman who was arrested in connection with the burning and cremation of Angoda Lokka, the Sri Lankan drug lord who was living in hiding in the Kalapatti area of Coimbatore, has been arrested. Along with her Lawyer Sivagami Sundari from Madurai and Dyaneswaran who helped to make fake documents were arrested.
Amani Thanji was lodged in the foreigner section of the Puzhal jail in Chennai, Dyaneswaran in the Perundurai sub-jail and lawyer Sivagami Sundari in the Coimbatore central jail. The case is being investigated by the CBCID police under the leadership of DSP Raju. The Coimbatore Chief Criminal Court judge granted bail to the three of them on the 7th of October.
Dyaneswaran has since been released on bail. Sri Lankan woman Amani Thanji and Madurai-based lawyer Sivagami Sundari are having trouble getting out of jail as no one has guaranteed their bail. Meanwhile, Amani Thanji has been given two guarantees and she is expected to be released tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Prosecutors have said that someone has given a guarantee to lawyer Sivagami too.
