During the review meeting, he said, "The Corporation of Coimbatore is taking various preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID. Testing is being carried out at medical camps and door-to-door in all zones of the Corporation to prevent the spread of the disease to those with cold, cough and fever.
When a medical camp is held in a ward, another one will be held at the same place again a week later. Data on corona infections in the area should be collected. Medical camps should be held at public places such as railway stations, bus stands, and markets. All bus drivers, conductors and passengers should wear face masks. Those who do not follow this will be fined.
Similarly, those who work in restaurants, shopping malls, bakeries and grocery stores must wear masks and follow the social distancing. Customers must be informed that the regulations must be followed. Shops that do not comply with these will be sealed. Corona examination should be done for inmates in Central Jail. Inmates who are newly entering the jail should be isolated for 14 days.
Also, make sure that hospitals have ventilator facilities. In order to be a corona-free corporation, all the public should wear masks, adhere to the social distancing and give their full cooperation."
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of the Corporation S. Madhuranthagi, City Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Zonal Assistant Commissioners Senthil Kumar Rathinam (North), T.R.Ravi (South), A.J.Senthil Arasan (West), and M.Murugan (East), Executive Engineer Gnanavelu, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, all zonal Health Officers, health inspectors and corporation officials.
