With 1,288 cases, Chennai continued to top the table followed by Coimbatore which recorded 392 fresh positives.
Salem ranked third with 393 cases followed by Chengalpattu (309), Thiruvallur (199) and Thanjavur (189).
While Tirupur logged 183 cases, The Nilgiris posted 96.
