Coimbatore: Unidentified car hits two wheeler killing 45-day-old baby in Coimbatore - Investigations on with CCTV footage
Coimbatore: Coimbatore: An unidentified car hit a two wheeler killing 45-day-old baby near Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore. The incident has created a great deal of sorrow in the area.
Chinnaiyan (27) from Salem district has been married to Sathya (24) for the past five years. The couple has a 45-day-old baby girl named Thikalvizhi. The couple resides in EB Colony area next to Kurumbapalayam. Chinnayan is working as an assistant manager in a private company in Sivananda Colony.
In this situation, at 11 am yesterday, Chinnaiyan and his wife took the child in a two-wheeler to be vaccinated at the Anganwadi in Kovilpalayam area.
Meanwhile, a Scorpio car coming from behind overtook them as they approached Kovilpalayam and collided with the Chinnaiyan's vehicle and raced off in the blink of an eye. Chinnaiyan stumbled and fell down. At that time, the child Thikalvizhi in Sathya's arms fell down and sustained severe head injuries. The shocked Chinnaiyan couple took the child with the help of neighbors and admitted her ata private hospital in Kurumbapalayam. However, the child failed to respond to treatment and died tragically.
Kovilpalayam police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Chinnaiyan. The police are trying to identify the car with the help of of CCTV footage from the area.
