A sanitary worker found the fetus this afternoon while cleaning the sewer near Palladam (west).
She immediately alerted the police and health officials who rushed to the spot and retrieved the fetus from the sewer and are investigating.
The distrubing incident created a stir in the area. While its speculated that the mother could probably suffered a miscarriage, the police are investigating the matter.
