Coimbatore: Public near Pollachi have complained that residential area is polluted by husk coming out of coir factory.
There is a privately owned coir factory in Arutchelvar Nagar near Vanjiyapuram near Pollachi.

The husks from this factory are dried in a nearby 10-acre site. The public has been complaining that coconut fiber particles are flying in the air and polluting the nearby residential areas.

As a result, they complained that they are troubled to no end due to the presence of husks in utensils, food items, drinking water and milk. They also allege that when there are heavy winds, there is a risk of suffocation caused by too many fiber particles.

In addition, people in the area say that they spend a lot of time clearing away the particles on a daily basis. Therefore, the people of the area have demanded that action be taken against these fiber factories which are polluting the residential area.
