Coimbatore: Attendants at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital don't have to sleep on floors anymore!
Coimbatore: The department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) is now equipped with additional customised cots for attendants of patients.
The newly set up beds will be in use for patients' visitors and attendants who accompany them during check-ups and follow-ups.
The cots are customised in such a way that they can be pushed under the patients' beds, so as to safe space. The cots are 6 feet in length, 2 feet in width and 1.5 feet in height, say sources.
According to sources, earlier the patient attendants had to sleep either in the patient's bed when they are taken to check up like x-ray or lab. Otherwise, they have to sleep on the floor.
CMCH Dean Kalidas said that at present, there are close to fifty such beds available in the ortho wards and after re-assessing the needs, further requirements will be processed.
