Coimbatore: Over 5000 saloons down their shutters in Coimbatore demanding justice for the sexual assault and murder of a minor girl near Dindigul
Coimbatore:Over 5000 saloons remain closed in Coimbatore today demanding justice for the sexual assualt and murder of a minor girl in Dindigul.

The 12-year-old daughter of a barber from Kurumpatti, Dindigul district, was sexually assaulted and killed last year. One Kirubanandan was arrested and interrogated in this case, but he was acquitted on May 29 in a case pending in the Mahila Court.

Condemning this, saloon shops across Tamil Nadu are closed today demanding justice for the girl who was sexually abused. As part of this, barbers in the Coimbatore district have registered their protest by closing shops and erecting black flags in front of the shop. More than 5,000 shops have been closed across the district and about 1,500 of them are in the city limits.
