Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner inspected isolated areas in the West Zone of Coimbatore Corporation.

P. Kumaravel Pandian, Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer inspected the isolation zone and cleaning work in the Coimbatore Corporation West Zone, and inspected the sanitary staff visiting houses on MCGregor Road collecting compostable and non-compostable garbage.

He instructed that the compostable and non-compostable garbage should be segregated and collected by the sanitary workers in the area and the garbage should be dumped only in the bins. He told people in the area not to litter on the sides of the road.

He then visited the centre set up for the preparation of microbial compost with biodegradable waste at RS Puram Arokiasamy Road.
He then informed the concerned officials that all arrangements should be made for the functioning of the centre. He later inspected the RS Puram Srinivasa Raghavan Road and said that the isolated area should be sprayed with disinfectants and that cleaning work should be carried out in the area and that the people in the area must wear face masks and adhere to the social distancing.

He visited the modernized Gandhi Park in RS Puram, which was temporarily closed due to the spread of coronavirus, and enquired about the work being done around the park.

Following that, he inspected health workers going door to door on RS Puram's Bashyakaralu Road to check the public for cold, flu, cough and body temperature tests with a thermometer and to see if the details of those with coronavirus infection are properly recorded. He also stressed that everyone in the area must wear a face mask, adhere to social distancing, and wash their hands frequently with soap or disinfectant. He appealed to the people in the area to give their full cooperation so in order to make the corporation disease free.
West Zone Assistant Commissioner AJ Senthil Arasan, Assistant Engineer Kamalakkannan, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran, Supervisors and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
