The Coimbatore Corporation administration is actively pursuing corona infection prevention measures. Penalties are levied on behalf of the corporation from those who violate state regulations such as not wearing a face mask, not following social distancing, and spitting in public places.
Accordingly, Rs.200 is collected for not wearing face masks, Rs.500 for not following social distancing and Rs.500 for spitting in public places.
According to the corporation officials, "A fine of Rs 35 lakh has been levied on non-compliant public and traders in Coimbatore. Penalties for non-compliance with corona rules have been raised. In addition, notice boards have been put up at various places in Coimbatore. Therefore, the public should wear face masks and strictly follow the corona prevention guidelines laid down by the government."
