Coimbatore: Public visiting the Pollachi General Government Hospital has been forced to seek treatment at private hospitals as a faulty CT scan machine here has not been repaired for more than six months.
Pollachi Government Hospital has completed 10 years of upgrading from Taluk Hospital to District Headquarters Government Hospital. Villagers around Pollachi, Valparai, Kinathukadavu and other areas seek treatment at the Pollachi Chief Government Hospital.
CT scan machine that has not worked for six months:

In this case, the CT scan machine at the hospital has been faulty since last January and the patients coming to government hospitals are forced to pay more at private scan centers.
Delay in surgery due to COVID:
In addition, more than 2,000 outpatients visit the Government Hospital every day. Many patients are admitted for surgery. The hospital, which has four surgical centers, is currently not performing surgery on patients due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.

People complain that the Pollachi government doctors, who used to perform an average of 10 surgeries a day, now perform only obstetric surgeries.
Public demand an immediate solution:
As a result, the public laments that they are in dire straits as they are forced to pay many thousands at private hospitals. Therefore, they have requested that necessary action should be taken to either repair the faulty CT scan or fit a new one as soon as possible. They also demanded that surgeries should be resumed.
