Narayanasamy hails from Kethanur area near Palladam in Tirupur district. In 1999, he sold knitting machineries to Nagarajan, who runs a dyeing plant. Nagaraj owed 8 lakh 50 thousand rupees for which he gave a cheque, but the cheque bounced when presented. Further, Nagarajan has been dragging for 20 years without giving the money.
Under the circumstances, Narayanasamy went on a hunger strike at the District Collector's Office today demanding that he be summoned to the Kamanaickenpalayam police station for further investigation and that action be taken to recover the money. The elderly man abandoned the hunger strike as the officials assured him that further action would be taken.
