Tirupur: Members of the public filed petition with the District Collector against installation of towers by private cell phone companies in Tirupur.
With more than 500 families living in the Neruperichal area in Tirupur, private cell phone companies are making efforts to set up two towers in the area. The public in the area today petitioned the district collector to not allow the towers because they fear they could be exposed to radiation as most of the houses here are apartments.
