In addition to natural compost at the Nallur landfill, earthworm compost is also produced at Alagapuri Road. The Pollachi Municipality is in the first phase of implementing a project to make compost from compostable waste from the respective areas and to cultivate vegetables in the parks in the residential areas in a natural way.
For this, the locations such as Jyoti Nagar Natchatra Poonga, SR Lay-out, Mullai Nagar, and Alagapuri Road have been selected. At Jyoti Nagar Natchatra Poonga, an acre of land is cultivated with various crops including beans, tomatoes, beans, spinach, and groundnut.

Municipal Commissioner Gandhiraj inaugurated the process of vegetable and groundnut cultivation. Many, including health inspectors, took part. Regarding the project, officials said vegetables and groundnuts are being cultivated as there is space in the park. These will be properly maintained and the required fertilizers will be added, they said.
