Coimbatore: With the number of COVID infections in Pollachi municipality increasing day in and day out, continuous inspections are conducted by Health officials to check whether COVID-19 regulations issued by the TN government are followed properly.

It has been ordered by the Municipality and Health Department that shops should be kept open only from 6 am to 8 pm and shopkeepers should ensure that customers should wear face masks and follow social distancing and violation this would lead to fines and closure of shops.

This being the case, the municipality received a series of complaints that some shops near the Pollachi Municipality office do not observe social distancing. On those lines, municipal health inspectors were engaged in monitoring work on the orders of the Municipal Commissioner Gandhirajan.

At that time, it was found that in a sweet shop, an internet center anda tea shop, people stood in crowds without observing the social distancing and wearing face masks.
