Coimbatore:Two arrested in connection with attack on BJP cadre in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Ganesamurthy (30) hails from the Shanthimedu area in Coimbatore. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ganesamurthy is said to have recruited a driver from the Veerapandi area to join BJP from Hindu Munnani party. Hence Murugan of the Hindu Munnani has argued with Ganesamurthy about this.
It is said that Ganesamurthy called Murugan over the phone while he was drunk. As a verbal dispute between the two sparked, Murugan and his friends Divakar, Vishnu, Satish, Gokul, Guna Indra and Sridhar asked Ganesamurthy to come to Thiruvalluvar Nagar where he was seriously injured when Murugan and his friends attacked him with an iron bar following a tussle. Those nearby rescued him and admitted him to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case against 7 persons including Murugan based on the on the complaint lodged by Ganesamurthy.
Meanwhile, police have arrested two people and are searching for the rest of the five, including Murugan who has absconded.
