Coimbatore: CODISSIA Industrial Park Limited - A beacon of hope for the industrial sector in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: With one industrial unit functioning already, 15 awaiting building approval, and construction work carried out by a few more, Codissia Industrial Park Limited premises at Moperipalayam and Kallapalayam stand as a beacon of hope for industrial development across the region.
With an anticipated future growth of the industrial sector, one of the biggest industrial estate projects in the area was started 10 years ago under the name CODISSIA Industrial Park Limited (CIPL). Spanning an area of340 acres of land, the estate is located at two villages - Mopperipalayam and Kallapalayam.
On February 6, 2019, TN CM Edappadi K Palaniswami officially inaugurated the industrial park that has attracted investments from 300 industrialists. Despite the ongoing pandemic, 1 unit has been officially inaugurated at Kallapalayam and has started its operations. A few more have started construction work and 15 have andapplied for building approvals. This has given a big hope to industrialists across the region.
CODISSIA President and CODISSIA Industrial Park Limited(CIPL) Director R. Ramamurthy told SimpliCity, "We are extremely happy to inform you that lands have been handed over to all the investors. It is one of the biggest industrial estates in the region. An industrial unit named Surya Industries has started functioning at Kallapalayam Industrial Estate premises and few more such as Aar Key Power Transmission have started construction work at Mopperipalayam Industrial Estate premises. Apart from this, 15 more have applied for building approvals and we hope those industries will also begin construction soon. Water connections have been given at Mopperipalayam and Tamilnadu Water supply and Drainage Board(TWAD) will very soon provide water connections at Kallapalayam Industrial Estate too.
As far as the electricity connections are concerned, we have spoken with the chief engineer and the top official has assured that industrialists who apply for the connections will be provided them as fast as possible. Separate space has also been allotted for establishing electricity substations inside the premises at Mopperipalayam and Kallapalayam. Substation construction is also underway. We would like to thank both the state and central governments. Without their help, this would not have been possible. 'Codissia Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation centre' will be established at Kallapalayam industrial estate premises and plan approval has also been submitted for establishing the centre.
One of the highlights is that the infrastructure will be developed based on the green building concept. 'CIPL' has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Green Building Council for developing the infrastructure in a sustainable manner, which will give a huge boost to the Green Building Movement. CIPL’s industrial parks come under IGBC Green Industrial City Rating, where infrastructural facilities such as power, water, and waste water treatment and transportation facilities are planned and provided by CIPL for the benefit of 300 individual factories that would eventually be set up."
"I am sure once all the industries start functioning inside both the premises, it would prove to be a state-of-the-art infrastructure which will play a significant role in the overall Industrial development," he added.
