Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner inspects Anna market on Mettupalayam Road
Coimbatore:Corporation Commissioner inspected the Anna market that is to be reopened on the Mettupalayam Road. He instructed all the traders to wear masks and follow social distancing. Due to the spread of the coronavirus infection the Anna Market on Mettupalayam Road in the West Zone is currently functioning temporarily at GCT College. In a bid to reopen the Anna market, the Corporation Commissioner inspected the market and said the shops must adhere to social distancing.
He instructed that the adjacent shop to the one operating should be left empty. He also asked the vegetable sellers to maintain social distancing with those who come to buy vegetables and instructed that masks should be worn compulsorily. He also said that the market should be kept clean.
Later the Corporation Commissioner inspected the work being carried out by the sanitary workers at the Seeranaickenpalayam Rajan Colony to remove debris and blockages in the rainwater drains and reiterated that those involved in sanitary work should wear face masks and gloves and follow social distancing.
West Zone Assistant Commissioner AJ Senthil Arasan, Assistant Engineer Kamalakkannan, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran and Supervisors were present during the inspection.
