A 19-year-old girl was raped and murdered in a village in Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh. A protest was held on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Theendamai Ozhippu Munnani, All India Democratic Women's Association, Democratic Youth Federation of India and the Student Federation of India in front of the Tirupur Corporation, condemning the incident.
They demanded immediate action against the accused and chanted slogans against the Uttar Pradesh government and central government.
They also demanded safety of women be ensured.
