Coimbatore: A social activist disguised himself as Gandhi and distributed free masks in Coimbatore.
Raja Sethu Murali hails from Kuniyamuthur area in Coimbatore. A film actor and social activist, he has been serving lunch to patients and their relatives who are being treated at the Coimbatore Government Hospital under the name 'Pasiyara Soru.'
For the last 20 years, he has been raising awareness on issues such rainwater harvesting, AIDS, the need for small savings, female infanticide, and child labor. Emphasizing the need to wear helmets, he also donated 250 helmets free of charge over the past few months.
Today he disguised himself as Gandhiji on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and handed over 200 free masks to the public on the Coimbatore District Collectorate-Railway Station stretch.
The public appreciated his action and received the free masks.
Raja Sethu Murali said that he has been doing various awareness programs for the last several years. He said even though the government is constantly urging people to wear masks as the coronavirus infection is on the rise, most of the people do not follow this.
Hence to emphasize the need to wear a face mask, he disguised as Gandhiji today and distributed masks to the public.
