Coimbatore: Unannounced power cuts hit online classes in Coimbatore: Consumer association writes to CM for help
Coimbatore: A consumer association from Coimbatore has sought CM's help to ensure online classes for college and school students do not get affected due to unannounced power cuts.
On behalf of Consumer Awareness and Protection Association (CAPA), a letter has been sent to chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi Palanisamy.
The letter reads, "Online classes for school and college students are going on in full swing in view of closure of all educational institutions in Tamil Nadu due to the COVID pandemic. spread. We thank the Chief Minister for the steps taken in regard to combat coronavirus in our State. We also thank you for revoking the order of the Education Department to conduct regular classes for 10th and 12th std from this month."
'TANGEDCO’s power cut or power shutdown due to their maintenance work and attending fuse off calls work, fixing meters for new connections are carried out during their working hours daily. As a consequence to this, arbitrary and unannounced power cuts affect the online classes for all students in our State. Normally all online classes begin by 8:00 am and end by 3:00 pm."
The consumer organisation has requested that TANGEDCO should carry out their work only after 3:00 pm daily and to implement this system immediately till re-opening of educational institutions.
