Coimbatore: DMK youth wing petitions Coimbatore District collector to money embezzled by BJP cadres claiming it as subscription for Modi insurance scheme
Coimbatore: DMK youth wing petitioned Coimbatore District collector to money embezzled by BJP cadres claiming it as subscription for Modi insurance scheme.
Ration shop No. 56 is operating in Thirumalayampalayam municipality under Madukkarai circle of Coimbatore district. They have been charging Rs 50 per person from the public who come to the shop to buy goods, claiming that they are enrolling them for Modi's Rs 5 lakh insurance scheme.
It is said that so far around 200 people have been charged more than 10 thousand rupees with each person paying Rs. 50 rupees. Jayalalithaa had renamed the scheme introduced by the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi in 2009 as the Chief Minister's Insurance Scheme. The insurance card clearly states that no fees will be charged for this plan, but for the last one week, the BJP had been collecting money in 15 wards in the Thirumalaiyampalayam area, claiming it as Modi's insurance scheme.
Hence the DMK Youth Wing has petitioned the District Collector to recover the money and return it to the public.
