New Delhi: In its latest unlock 5.0 directive, the central government has allowed multiplexes and cinemas to reopen, with 50% seating capacity.
Announcing further relaxations for the fifth stage of Covid lockdown, the central government on Wednesday has lifted restrictions on entertainment parks, cinema halls and business exhibitions.
As part of the new guidelines issued under Unlock 5, cinemas theatres, multiplexes will be permitted to resume functioning from October 15 with 50% seating. Business to Business (B2B) exhibitions will also be permitted to open from Oct 15. The SOPs for the same will be issued by the Department of Commerce, soon.
The centre has also permitted to re-open schools and colleges from October 15 onwards. However, state governments have been given the freedom to decide about school-opening dates after October 15, the guidelines said.
Restrictions on on intra/ inter-state movements have also been lifted. States barred from imposing lockdowns, no restriction on movements. The Union Home Ministry said that state/ union territory (UT) Governments shall not impose any local lockdown (State/ District/ sub-division/City/ village level), outside the containment zones, without prior consultation' with the central government.
