Coimbatore: Farmers happy as copra fetches higher price in Anaimalai Regulated Market
Coimbatore: Farmers are happy as copra fetched higher price of Rs. 335 per quintal in Anaimalai Regulated Market auction held yesterday.
According to Superintendent Manivasakam, farmers in the Anaimalai area had brought 452 bundles for sale. They were graded and auctioned by the authorities in the presence of traders. 238 bundles of first grade copra went for a minimum of Rs.10,550 per quintal and a maximum of Rs. 11,635. 214 bundles of 2nd grade copra went for a maximum of Rs. 9,555 and a minimum of Rs. 7,550.
14 traders and 95 farmers participated in the auction. There were 138 bundles more than last week. A total of 216 quintals was auctioned for Rs. 19 lakhs. The price increased by Rs. 335 per quintal this week.
