Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation officials are planning to set up medical camps at bus and train stations for conducting coronavirus testing for those with symptoms.
The spread of coronavirus in Coimbatore district is increasing day by day. Every day more than 500 people are diagnosed with coronavirus infection and admitted to hospitals. More than 70 per cent of them belong to the corporation areas. In this situation, the spread of coronavirus in Coimbatore is also considered to be high because of several people coming into the city from other districts and states. Following this, medical camps are planned to be set up at bus and train stations to control the spread of coronavirus.
A corporation official said medical check-up camps are being set up at major bus stands and railway stations in the city, including Gandhipuram State bus stand and Singanallur bus stand.He also added that more than a thousand employees are to be appointed for these tasks alone. He said the coronavirus tests will be performed on passengers from other districts and states.
