These monkeys have infiltrated into the nearby town of Valparai.

They often break into the houses here and eat rice, pulses and cooked food.

They also damage the window panes of the house and cable wires.
The public is terrified since more than a hundred monkeys enter the city at once. The Forest Department is carrying out intensive patrols to prevent the lion-tailed macaques from entering the city. The public has requested the forest department to relocate them into dense forests.
