Coimbatore: Babri Masjid demolition case verdict today - Bomb experts and sniffer dogs deployed at Coimbatore Railway Station
Coimbatore: Bomb experts and sniffer dogs have been deployed for security checks at Coimbatore railway station with Babri Masjid demolition case verdict to be released today.
As the verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case is to be given today, heavy police security has been put in place at railway stations across the country. As part of this, the Tamil Nadu Police Department and the Railway Police are engaged in security operations in Coimbatore.
Railway police led by DSP Gunasekaran conducted a security check at the station today. The inspection was conducted with the help of sniffer dogs and bomb experts.
Police said that the station premises, train compartments and passengers are closely monitored and checks are carried out by the sniffer dogs and bomb diffusion experts.
Speaking to reporters, DSP Gunasekaran, Tamil Nadu Railway Police said that the police have been deployed for extra security at the railway stations. He further said that they are working towards ensuring safe travel for the passengers and will allow passengers only after checks. An additional 100 personnel, including Railway Police and Railway Security Force Police, have been deployed at railway stations in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Mettupalayam, Ooty and Coonoor.
