Coimbatore: Taking up a case about collection of school fees in private schools, the Chennai High Court issued notices to nine schools including Coimbatore PSSB Millenium School for reportedly collecting total fees against Court directive to collect only one installment. The court has sought an explanation from the erring schools by October 14.
The Court earlier passed an order allowing private schools to collect only single installment of the annual fee, with a deadline of September 30. However,nine schools in Tamil Nadu had flouted the directives by forcing the parents pay the entire fee for the academic year.
Filing a case with relevant documents against the nine, the school education took to the court and pleas came up for hearing on July 17. The report said that nine schools have been found violating the court order.
Part of the report submitted by Advocate General Vijay Narayan said "After scrutinizing all the complaints received by the chief educational officers, a prima facie material is available against nine schools, who have insisted payment of 100% fees which is in direct violation of the orders passed by this court.”
Based on this the Court indicated that contempt proceedings will be initiated against the schools. The nine schools implicated in the case are:

PS Chidambara Nadar Senior Secondary School, Virudhunagar
Shatriya Vidyasala Matric Higher Secondary School, Virudhunagar
Shatriya Vidyasala Higher Secondary School, Virudhunagar
Muslim Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram
Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Seconday School, Paramakkudi
SHNV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi
Sri Shankara Vidya Kendriya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thiruvottriyur
Hussain Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ambattur
