In the Kanjampalayam area under the Tirupur Corporation, tar roads have not been constructed for the last 25 years. Due to the ongoing rains, the roads are overflowing with rain water and sewage. This poses the risk of infection in the area.
The public and BJP cadres staged a sit-in protest today on Kanjampalayam Road, raising slogans against the district administration for not taking any action even after repeated petitions to the corporation administration seeking basic facilities.
This disrupted traffic in the area for more than an hour. The protestors dispersed after the police spoke to the corporation administration and assured immediate action.
