Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian said that 179 areas in Coimbatore Corporation have been isolated and monitored as restricted areas till date.
The Corporation is taking various measures to prevent the spread of corona. As part of it, if three or more people are affected by corona on the same road in the corporation, that area (street) is declared as a restricted area.
For the next 14 days, the area will be blocked. Bleaching powder and disinfectant spraying operations are being carried out in those areas by the Corporation staff who are monitored by the concerned health inspectors.
In addition, it is forbidden for outsiders to enter the restricted areas and for persons inside to exit. Further, permission will be denied to open shops in the restricted areas.
Corporation Commissioner requested the people to cooperate with the Corporation by wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing.
