A review meeting with private laboratories that conduct COVID tests and health officials was chaired by Coimbatore District Collector, K. Rajamani, yesterday.
He said that private laboratories conducting coronavirus testing should publish the results of the samples tested in their laboratories without delay and ascertain that those who test positive are headed towards hospital for treatment.
He urged that the testing centres should immediately report their contact details to the Health Department and Coimbatore Corporation and all private laboratories must test the visitors with pulse oximeters and take steps to send those with COVID symptoms to hospital before the test results are available.
