Coimbatore: A special vaccination camp was held at the Coimbatore Government Veterinary Hospital in view of World Rabies Day.
Rabies can be caused by rabid dogs and the bites of mammals including horses, foxes, and cats. The rabies vaccine was invented in 1988 by Louis Pasteur. The day he invented the vaccine is observed every year as World Rabies Day.
In this context, a special vaccination camp for animals was held at the Coimbatore Government Veterinary Hospital in view of this on the eve of this year's World Rabies Day.
People from various parts of Coimbatore brought in their pets including dogs and cats and had them vaccinated them against rabies.
This special camp is conducted to create awareness among the public as rabies is a very dangerous disease. Doctors have advised that not only animals but also humans can be vaccinated for rabies.
