Coimbatore: Syed Shahil (13), son of Syed Shaj from Krishnan Estate, Erode district, who was on a trip to Valparai, Coimbatore district, visited Valparai with his family yesterday.
Coimbatore: Syed Shahil (13), son of Syed Shaj from Krishnan Estate, Erode district, who was on a trip to Valparai, Coimbatore district, visited Valparai with his family yesterday.
At around one o'clock in the afternoon, they went with their family to the river near the Karumalai Annai Velankanni Matha Kovil. Then, when Shakil tried to take a photo, he slipped and fell into the water and got stuck in a cliff.
Unable to recover him, he drowned and died of suffocation. Immediately, people in the area took the boy out of the water and took him to the Karumalai General Hospital for first aid.
But the boy did not survive the treatment. The boy's body was brought to Valparai Government Hospital for autopsy.
