Various parties and farmers across the country have been campaigning for the withdrawal of the agrarian amendment bill brought by the central government.

Opposition parties, including the DMK, are staging protests across Tamil Nadu today. As part of this, DMK workers led by Thendral Selvaraj, the DMK in-charge of the Coimbatore South District, staged a protest at the Pollachi Thiruvalluvar Grounds.

During the protests, slogans were raised condemning the central government. Similarly, demonstrations were held in 11 places including Negamam, Anaimalai and Kottur. The demonstration was attended by parties including MDMK, KMDK and the Communists.
The protest against the bill introduced by the central government, called for the repeal of the bill, which oppresses farmers, saying it would only benefit corporates and hurt farmers.
