Coimbatore: In a terrible accident near Palladam, a man and woman, both siblings, were was killed and the woman's husband has been admitted to a private hospital in critical condition.



Jayaraj (42) from Tirupur Konganagiri area was married to Thamaraiselvi (45). Thamaraiselvi, a hosiery worker, was admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital a few days ago due to ill health. After recovery, she was discharged today and was returning home today with her husband Jayaraj in her brother Runner's van. Driven by Runner, the van lost control as one of the tires burst near Perumbali on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway and collided head-on with a tanker lorry heading towards Kerala.



This almost completely totalled the van, which was wrecked beyond recognition. All the three passengers were trapped in the rubble and fighting for their lives. Public nearby rushed to the spot, retrieved the trio and rushed them to Palladam Government Hospital. Tamarai Selvi and her brother Runner, where the siblings were declared dead. Meanwhile, Jayaraj has been admitted to a private hospital in Palladam and is said to be in a critical condition.



The accident caused traffic congestion on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway. Police have registered a case and are investigating.The accident that killed a woman and her younger brother has caused much sorrow.
