Sayaan, Walayar Manoj, Deepu, Bijin Kutty, Jitin Joy, Udayakumar, Jamsheer Ali, Manoj Sami, Santosh Sami and Satheeshan are the 10 accused in the murder and robbery of a guard at late CM Jayalalitha's Kodanad bungalow. Two of these witnesses were questioned today.
Opposition lawyer Anandcondemned the non-appearance of one of the witnesses until yesterday who he said is the brother of a member of the ruling party because of which he has been avoiding court. The trial judge adjourned the case to the 29th asking all the 10 to appear on that day. Lawyer Anand who appeared for the accused and the government lawyer Nanda Kumar met the reporters. Lawyer Anand said the accused were provided security by a guard who was infected with COVID-19 with an intention to infect them as well.
The government lawyer opposed the statement and said there's no medical backing for the opposition lawyer's accusation.
