Coimbatore: Pollachi Anamalai resort money swindling case: Main culprit from Kerala arrested
Coimbatore: Main culprit from Kerala arrested in the Pollachi Anamalai resort money swindling case. So far, five persons have been arrested and Rs. 1 crore 32 lakh 15 thousand worth of goods have been confiscated from them.

Today, three luxury cars and gold jewelry worth Rs 35 lakh and 15 thousand were confiscated from Anoop Kumar.
Resort owner Muthu (67) hails from Ganapathipalayam area near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. He kept the money from the sale of his resort in a bank locker in Singanallur, Pollachi. On September 2, he took 1 crore 72 lakh 50 thousand rupees from the bank locker and gave it to Anoop Kumar from Kozhinjampara, Kerala. He asked him to deposit it in his other bank locker, but Anoop Kumar absconded with the money.
Muthu lodged a complaint with the Anamalai police on the 4th. They registered a case, investigated and arrested five of Anoop Kumar's friends from Kerala. Also a three-member team was formed to nab the main culprit Anoop Kumar. Meanwhile, Anoop Kumar, who arrived in a luxury car at the Chemmanampathy check post today, was spotted by police, buthe threatened them with a gun and tried to escape, but they gave chase and apprehended him.

Anoop Kumar was later taken to the Anamalai police station and interrogated.

Police seized 3 expensive luxury cars, 50 sovereigns of gold jewelry worth Rs 35 lakh 15 thousand, a country-made gun, 3 bullets, 4 mobile phones and an Apple iPad. Police registered a case against Anoop Kumar under 6 sections and arrested him. It is to be noted that he is already facing 11 charges of kidnapping, robbery and fraud in the state of Kerala.
