Ooty and surroundings have been receiving heavy rains for the last two days with strong winds.
Meanwhile, a giant eucalyptus tree fell on a house in the VC Colony area next to Fingerpost. Mathiyalakan (45), Bakiyalakshmi (38) and Sanjay (17) who were sleeping at home at the time and injured were rushed to Ooty Government General Hospital with serious injuries.
Under the circumstance, the people in the area allege that they have repeatedly petitioned the district administration to remove dangerous trees.
They reiterated that dangerous trees be removed as continuous rains might uproot them and harm the people.
